How RolledIceCream.net chooses topics, handles evidence, labels product research, corrects errors, and separates editorial judgment from compensation.

Topic Selection
We prioritize questions that change a reader’s next decision: understanding the method, solving failure conditions, selecting a machine class, estimating cost, and recognizing commercial risk.
Product Evaluation
- Hands-On Tested is used only after documented direct use.
- Specification Reviewed means available technical claims were checked against identified documentation.
- Seller Information Verified applies only to seller-provided terms checked at a recorded time.
- Third-Party Evidence Reviewed identifies reliance on outside testing or documented experience.
- Not Yet Independently Tested prevents research from masquerading as direct experience.
Source and Claim Standards
We prefer manufacturer manuals, certification databases, official rules, technical documentation, and clearly attributed primary material. Origin stories, output claims, prices, service quality, and profitability claims receive explicit caution when evidence is incomplete or unstable.
Corrections and Updates
Material errors should be corrected in the affected page, with the update date changed when the revision alters a decision-relevant claim. Prices and availability require a verification date and may change after publication.
Sponsorship and Affiliate Independence
Commercial relationships do not purchase a verdict. Sponsorship, if introduced, must be labeled and separated from product evaluation. Affiliate links may earn compensation without increasing the reader’s price.
